After my graduation, I was searching for a job at a company that values sustainability, where I could take my skills in that area to the next level. At the same time, I was looking for an international working environment in which I could grow professionally as well as personally.

What I found in the traineeship at Broadview is exciting projects, an emphasis on personal development and a diverse international working environment with amazing people.

Exciting projects

My first project is about conducting life cycle assessments (LCAs) for two companies in the group. LCA is a fact-based tool revealing the environmental impact of products, and it is an important foundation for improving companies' sustainability performance. To conduct LCAs, a high level of analytical and critical thinking is required.

I am also supporting the program Trespa Second Life. The program’s goal is to extend the life of Trespa HPL panels by giving them a second life in applications where they are fit for purpose. The project deep dives into the opportunities and challenges of circular business models, and this requires creativity and business skills.

Together, both projects offer insights into a broad range of sustainability topics and bring a lot of variety into my daily working routine.

Personal growth & working with senior management

During the traineeship, I also have close contact with senior management. Observing how they tackle problems and communicate insights has proven to be a valuable source of learning for me.

The training days are among my highlights so far. Throughout the traineeship, I attend recurring training days, together with other trainees from my batch. The sessions I’ve attended so far have been incredibly valuable. The trainers take a very personal approach and have truly helped me get to know myself and my strengths and weaknesses better. They also provide tools that I am now applying in my day-to-day work, helping me to plan and structure my projects better.

International team

I would describe the company culture as open-minded, honest and inspiring. I am surrounded by an amazing community with people from a variety of cultures and backgrounds. This diversity brings broad perspectives to the projects and stimulates rewarding discussions. I take a lot of inspiration from this for my work, and being surrounded by a supportive team motivates me to go the extra mile.

I could not have imagined a better way to start my career!
